{"id":1978,"date":"2012-08-14T18:02:54","date_gmt":"2012-08-14T18:02:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.acjps.org\/?page_id=1978"},"modified":"2015-07-02T10:03:39","modified_gmt":"2015-07-02T10:03:39","slug":"%d8%b1%d8%b3%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%aa%d9%86%d8%a7","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/web.acjps.org\/ar\/%d8%b1%d8%b3%d8%a7%d9%84%d8%aa%d9%86%d8%a7\/","title":{"rendered":"\u0631\u0633\u0627\u0644\u062a\u0646\u0627"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: large;\">The African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working to monitor and promote respect for human rights and legal reform in Sudan. <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ACJPS has a vision of a Sudan where all people can live and prosper free from fear and want in a state committed to justice, equality and peace.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Our Mission <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ACJPS is dedicated to creating a Sudan committed to all human rights, the rule of law and peace, in which the rights and freedoms of the individual are honored and where all persons and groups are granted their rights to non-discrimination, equality and justice.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Our Objectives<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To document human rights violations and protect those at risk.<\/li>\n<li>To hold perpetrators of serious violations and international crimes accountable.<\/li>\n<li>To ensure effective access to justice and obtain reparation for victims of gross human rights violations and serious violations of international humanitarian law<\/li>\n<li>To strengthen respect for human rights in Sudanese governance, society and culture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: large;\">Our Approach<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The expulsions and suspensions of international and national civil society groups in Sudan after the March 2009 decision by the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for President al-Bashir severely curtailed the ability of groups within Sudan to openly monitor the human rights situation in the country. However, through the expertise of our staff and their networks throughout Sudan, ACJPS is uniquely positioned to conduct monitoring, legal, and advocacy functions.<\/p>\n<p>Our core activities include: <strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitoring, documenting and reporting on human rights violation in Sudan.<\/li>\n<li>Strategic litigation to highlight violations of human rights as well as the provision of legal assistance<strong> <\/strong>to individuals and groups.<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy and support<strong> <\/strong>for efforts to use international and regional mechanisms to hold perpetrators of serious violations of human rights and international crimes accountable.<\/li>\n<li>Legal and human rights education and training as well as media campaigns to raise awareness of the rights and freedoms of individuals and groups, and to foster a culture of human rights.<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy and technical support to advance and implement international human rights standards within Sudan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ACJPS has offices located in New York, London and Africa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization working to monitor and promote respect for human rights and legal reform in Sudan.
